As a fresh creative force in the evolving
music industry, Jonathan Brown prides
himself on exceptional work ethic, patience,
and efficiency all with a humorous attitude.
In 2006, Jonathan established Archwood
Music’s writing & recording studio, and
production company based out of actress
Marilyn Monroe’s former residence in Los
Angeles, CA.
From its initial launch, Jonathan was
contracted to do in-house engineering for
The Black Eyed Peas. During this time, the
quality and experience gained working
alongside Will.I.AM and staff producers &
songwriters for various I.AM Music Group
projects, proved to be invaluable. In
addition to the exposure of countless A-List
artists; Jessie Mcartney, Pitbull, Baby
Bash, Omarion, Frankie J, etc, Jonathan
began building a reputation as a skilled
producer by collaborating with Latin artists
Ozomatli and Andy Vargas of Santana for
Taboo’s solo debut.
With an emphasis on both business &
creative; Jonathan worked independently with
music pioneer, BT on his international DJ
re-mixes, film, videogame, and new media
projects within Binary Acoustics. Jonathan
also had the good fortune to meet & work
under Mike Carren, Senior Urban A&R for
Atlantic Records lending himself to more
professionalism in the industry. From that,
Jonathan built an ongoing relationship with
Grammy Awarded Latin percussionist Luis
Conte, by doing cutting-edge remixes of his
Cuban inspired album “Marimbula”. Jonathan
also produced tracks for independent artists
and licensed music for Disney’s, High School
Musical 3.
In parallel, Jonathan began working closely
with Tommy Rotem, A&R for Beluga Heights as
a way to help develop artists in-house. From
this relationship, Jonathan structured
Archwood Music to co-write & co-produce new
artists in collaboration with Beluga Heights
affiliates.
All of this led to where Jonathan is today.
After a lot of hard work, one of his tracks
landed in the hands of JR Rotem while JR was
producing an upcoming artist on Jive
Records, Livvi Franc. “Lovey Dovey”,
co-written with JR, and James Font Leroy
(“No Air” – Jordin Sparks). From this,
Jonathan signed a publishing deal with
Beluga Heights and Universal Music
Publishing / Rondor International, inspired
by their passion for quality & excellence,
as well as their hands-on approach to artist
development.
With his extensive background in writing,
producing and playing multiple styles of
guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, and creative
sound design, it’s natural that Jonathan
continues to be involved in shaping today’s
music marketplace. Jonathan’s inspiration
for creating and disseminating music to the
masses comes from his passion to merge
modern technology with vintage sounds, in
innovative ways. Jonathan is an alumnus of
Berklee College of Music, Music Production
and Engineering Program.
