Tommy Rotem
A&R (Artists and Repertoire) and
Development
Contact Information
Following in his older brother's (acclaimed producer, J.R. Rotem) footsteps, Tommy Rotem moved to Los Angeles in 2005 to pursue a career in the music industry. After interning at Atlantic Records for several months, he was hired as an A&R at an upstart indie label, where he oversaw the development of several pop acts. During this period, Tommy spent all of his free time in the studio working alongside J.R. In addition
to his work at the indie label, Tommy scoured the internet in search
of new unsigned artists that he could develop and showcase to J.R
and his manager Zach Katz. In June of 2006, he discovered Sean Kingston on Myspace and started
closely working with him to develop him as an artist. Tommy brought him to J.R. and Zach who were highly impressed with Sean’s raw talent and Tommy’s development of it. The three-person record label partnership of Beluga Heights (JR Rotem, Zach Katz,
and Tommy Rotem) was immediately formed. Tommy was the natural choice to A&R as well as co-executive produce Sean Kingston's self titled debut album.
Looking to build upon his early success with Sean Kingston, Tommy has also signed Jason Derulo, Auburn, and Iyaz to Beluga Heights/Warner Bros, all of whom are slated for debut releases in 2009.
